Prayer - August 4, 2001

Sri Aurobindo,

Although I have felt in the past a guidance and help when I opened any of Thy books or Mother’s, these days it seems to me that each time I open ‘randomly’ any book, the message speaks to me specifically, explaining and illuminating aspects of my personal sadhana.

It is an incomparable gift and I am humbly grateful. Last night I read about poetry and now understand that it is a response of my inner being and a channel of its expression of my love and devotion to Thee I also read of the way in which poetry came to Thee and Thy help to others through the application of the Force.

Lord, I pray to be worthy of Thy gifts. Grant me humility, release the bonds of ego, let my consecration deepen and my sincerity be true throughout the being. Help me to still the mind and open to the descending peace.

May I belong to Thee and Mother, an instrument of Thy work on earth.
